Tractor Attachment Types
Tractor attachments allow one machine to do the work of many. However, with so many attachments and implements on the market, it can be difficult to pick which ones would be most useful around your particular farm. That’s why RECO Equipment has created this guide to various types of tractor attachments.
Loader Attachment
Loaders are one of the most versatile implements available for your tractor. They’re essentially a set of arms extending out from the front of the machine. While usually equipped with a bucket for moving material, you can swap out the part attached to the front of the arms depending on what task you want to accomplish, such as using a pallet fork to move pallets and crates.
Backhoe
A backhoe attachment turns your tractor into an excavator. Backhoe attachments have wide ranges of movement and a lot of reach, allowing you to dig deep without having to readjust your tractor’s position.
Box Blade
A box blade attachment allows you to easily spread soil or other loose material into a flat and level single layer. This attachment is very useful for creating roads and paths, as well as for leveling gravel to create a parking lot. A rear blade attachment performs similar functions.
Land Plane
Land planes are very similar to box blades in design and overall purpose. However, they cut through material in addition to smoothing it, giving you a great deal of control and finesse in many situations.
Quick-hitch Systems
If you plan to use many different tractor attachments on the same day, a quick-hitch system will make swapping them out easier. This can save you a lot of time and effort on busy days.
